This show is a response to the overwhelm and fatigue we are experiencing as a result of our increasingly accelerated society and the popularity of digital tools that enable us to produce images, texts, and designs in a matter of seconds. We believe that the excessive use of these technologies disconnects us from our humanity and negatively impacts our health.
We're seeking artworks that communicate the value of imperfect, slow, and analog human processes (such as making with the hands and body, creative and critical thinking, and caring for our bodies) that are increasingly undervalued in favor of quick, digital production.
We hope this show encourages viewers to find ways to slow down, care for themselves and each other, embrace human imperfections, and uncouple self-worth from productivity.
